Hand cut stencils of figure groups placed over painted or printed backgrounds to create mysterious abstract body forms

Kate is inspired by the human form particularly in motion , together with portraits informed by the mixed media materials she uses.

Often working on non traditional surfaces such as corrugated cardboard, over found images or on second hand canvases, Kate works with household and professional paints, pastel, charcoal and spray paints . The layers and textures she creates contribute to the tactile nature of the paintings .
